Go Back

Written by Alex Popadich

I have been away for the last five weeks, so this blog post is a bit overdue. I have tried not to publish the posts when I am away to minimise the risk of burnout and to have rest.

Now that I am back, I will be getting back into writing regular blog posts.

Medora update

We have been looking into Medora website to improve the things. We hope that the website improvement will be ready by the end of November. We will be making a new video about Medora and how it benefits GPs and consultants as a newer and smarter directory as well as an online community for doctors.

The most significant improvement will be in the search function of the directory to make it easier and better to find consultants. The search function will be more predictive.

The book I am reading

I have to admit, I have been very lazy on my holiday, and I have not read a single book. Since I returned, I have started reading a book called The Fall of Yugoslavia by Misha Glenny. I bought this book during my travels to attempt and understand more why things happened in Yugoslavia the way they did. My trip prompted this through Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.

Gadgets and Apps

I have slowly been getting over my Samsung phone. And this does not have anything to do with the phone as such. The phone is good, and it has an excellent camera. The video is not so good, but it's OK.

The biggest issue I have is with the quality of apps for the Android operating system. I mean, the best apps do not exist, like calendar apps. The best calendar app is Google calendar, and it is not a pleasant experience on the phone, especially if you have multiple Google accounts. It is not efficient, and it takes several extra steps to place an event in then it does on iOS apps. I love Fantastical for my calendar app, and I miss it. I also miss my podcasting app called Castro, and the scanning apps do not work as well etc. So I am getting a new iPhone 11 Pro. So I am going back to my iOS roots. And this is all due to efficiency and productivity.
